Slug Rune Rewards
Phase 1 - Once the BTC Slug mint is complete and all 3333 have been rescued from the mempool, we will conduct a snapshot. Anyone holding 3 or more Slugs in a single wallet at that time, will receive an airdrop of 1000 $PERQ (BRC-20 token). Read how that translates into Runes below.
Phase 2 - After the Runestone Protocol is live this Spring, NiftySats will etch our own Rune, and distribute supply allocations to BTC Slug holders in accordance with the rarity graphic above.
The runic symbols are paired to slug traits in the same order of rarity as RSIC Metaprotocol. Since RSIC Boosters were the first to rescue slugs, it only makes sense to have their runic symbol order remain syncopated with RSIC's.
In the event one of your slugs has more than one qualifying trait, you will receive the higher reward allocation, and the lower reward allocation will go into a collective pot, to be evenly distributed to all wallets holding 1 or more slugs. This way, no Slug is left out.
Example: You Mint a Slug that has a Kiddie Floatie (250k) AND a Snorkel (100k). You will receive 250k runes, and an even share of the other 100k runes split between all slug holders. If we assume there's 2000 wallets holding 1 or more slugs, you'd get your 250k runes plus an additional 50 runes (100k/2k=50), as well as any other share of supplies in the community pot.

Best Practices
Obtaining 3 BTC Slugs is the best way to optimize your position in the NiftySats ecosystem, as you are guaranteed to receive 1000 PERQ when the mint closes. That guarantees you 10000 Runes, and also increases the likelihood that one or more of your Slugs will possess qualifying traits, able to further increase your Rune allocation anywhere from 50k - 2M.
Additionally, you will receive an equal share of the community pot created from the lower tiered reward(s) of any slug possessing multiple qualifying traits, as laid forth in the second section here.
BTC Slugs can be acquired on MagicEden, enabling you to preview and target certain traits. However, the majority of qualifying traits are still in the pool of un-minted Slugs.
For instance, there at the time of this publication, there was a single super grail Laser Antennae minted. Conversely, there were 2 each of the Diamond and Ruby Antennae yet to be found. Likewise, all of the facial accessories like sunglasses, masks, headphones, etc, were un-minted as of Feb 27, 2024.
There was a bit of a treasure hunting game at play here for those who like surprises. Minting random pulls might reveal rare traits worth a huge supply of runes. While the more conservative among you opted for mid-tier traits confirmed in advance on MagicEden. Which path will you choose?🕵️♀️
Summary
Nudibranchs are some of the most diverse & unique sea creatures alive in our world. And we hope to create a diverse and unique on-chain experience with their digital likeness. ORD Protocol is an invaluable innovation to mankind, and while we have yet to see how Runes will impact the Web3 landscape, we are excited about the possibilities and eager to actively experiment with these nascent protocols.
Just know that all of this is exactly that - experimentation. In the same way the creator of BRC-20 tokens echoed the sentiments of the founder of Ordinals & now Runes, all of this could go to zero and be nothing.
